Brilliant Britain - Horrible Histories
Horrible Histories is a genius show created for British kids TV channel CBBC and is inspired by Terry Deary’s brilliantly funny books of the same name. The programme takes histories most gruesome, deadly and hilarious facts and makes them fun for kids to learn.
Of course, people started hearing about this and now people of all ages watch Horrible Histories avidly as the writers not only take give the historical facts and stories a funny twist, they use the opportunity to poke fun at other popular programmes like MasterChef and The Apprentice.
Just to prove how brilliant it is, Horrible Histories has won ‘Best Sketch Show’ two years in a row (2011, 2012) at the British Comedy Awards, the first children’s show to win an award outside the children’s category.
